Concept to Creation

Narrowing choices:
Hundreds of options and varied combinations of edge details and stone choices makes the process of purchasing natural stone much more difficult than purchasing man-made products with 4 or 5 options and combinations.
The Process can be daunting and overwhelming. You have to consider the product as a culmination of craftsmanship, design and ultimately a purchase of an incredibly unique and artistic slice of nature.

Step One:
Initial consultation at our showroom or the jobsite

Goal: Narrow design options and stone choices
Tasks: Bring cabinet layout, project dimensions and any wood, paint, tile or other color or textures that may relate to the stone, edge or finish details. This will allow us to dramatically narrow price options and design choices which will maintain sanity at step 2.

Step Two:
Picking material/finalizing pricing

Goal: picking the precise slabs or tiles to be used in the project
Tasks: View the stocked material in our yard or visit the warehouses of our various stone suppliers. Without purchasing the materials at this stage, you can place holds on multiple stone choices. This allows us the time to price the project related to the first, second or third choices.

Step Three:
Templating

Goal: Precise templating of the project at the jobsite after the cabinets or appropriate subdecks are installed or ready.
Tasks: We make hard templates of the precise surfaces to be fabricated. This requires more than plans but actual cabinets or finished framing. Sinks, appliances, or any other critical element may be necessary to proceed at this point.

Step Four:
Fabrication/Installation
Goal: Perfection, of course!

Tasks: Fabrication/installation timing depends on the scale of the job and the accuracy of the scheduling. Time blocked out cannot always be easily rescheduled immediately. In other words, have a heart-to-heart with any related sub-contractors before you block time with us. However, shuffling schedules and working with clients' construction-related and emotional breakdowns at at the stage they come to us is our forte.
